Lovers' Rock - The Inconsolables

Well, there are six of them, they're based in London but originate from all over the place and they make music. More specifically The Inconsolables make "spastic electro with a dash of doo-wop to produce glittering gems of punk-tinged pop", as they themselves put it. I know exactly where and when I came across this band, 'twas a mere three days ago after getting a recommendation over at last.fm saying that I'd almost certainly like this lot since je adore Helen Love. The recommendation was spot-on.

Lovers' Rock reminds me of New York Dolls but with boy-girl vocals, and yes, that is a good thing. Anything which reminds me of the New York Dolls or has boy-girl vocals is generally a good thing in my opinion.

Oh and if you look above to the photo on the left (yoinked without permission from their flickr page) is captioned "The Inconsolables are confronted by a giant hamster in Kentish Town" so even if you don't like the music then they've still done you a service by advising avoiding Kentish Town (unless you're a giant hamster).
